Quelques crobards de la cité catalane, entre tapas et canas, avec la bande de sketcheux locaux: Lapin, Santi salles, Miguel Herranz et les familles.. Ben ça donne déjà envie d'y retourner!

A few sketches from Barcelona were I had the luck to stay a few days, with the local sketchers Lapin, Santi Salles, Miguel Herranz and our families. Such good moments!

Il me faudrait les sept vies d'un chat pour dessiner tout ce que je voudrais.
A Barcelone en particulier.
Grand moment, ce Symposium, sympa de rencontrer certains USK ( "UrbanSKetchers") d'outre Atlantique ou d'Outre-plus-loin encore en vrai, autour d'une bière.
Ca valait le coup de quitter les montagnes et ruisseaux d'Auvergne, même en pleine saison de pêche à la mouche.

I would need the seven lifes of a cat to draw everything I want in Barcelona.
The Urbansketcher's Symposium was a grat moment, I was so happy to meet fellow sketchers from over Atlantic Ocean, ( and over many other seas too!).
It was worth to leave the mountains and streams of Auvergne, even in high season of fly fishing.

Nous voici donc, avec nos carnets, à déambuler le nez en l'air et à tartiner de pleines pages à grand renfort de crayons, stylos, aquarelles, taches de gras, crème à bronzer, gouaches, enfin tout ce qui peut satisfaire cet instinct qui existe en nous depuis que l'évolution nous a mis des mains à la place des nageoires.
So here we are, with our books, strolling the noses up, spreading full pages and pages with pencils, pens, watercolors, grease stains, suntan cream, gouaches, and everything that can satisfy this instinct that exists within us since evolution put us hands instead of fins.

Le soir venu, la coutume était de se retrouver au bar du "CCCB"pour des sessions de "drink and draw". Eh ben pas facile de parler Espagnol, puis Anglais, puis Français et de repasser à l'Espagnol en dessinant et en buvant des bières.
A la fin, ça donnait une sorte d'esperanto énolique, mais on arrivait à se comprendre, allez savoir, le dessin peut être.

On the evening, we used to meet together for the "drink&draws" in the CCCB bar. Sometimes, it was a little bit difficult  to speak English, Spanish, and French while drawing ( and having one or too beers..).At the end of a drink&draw session, my langage was a kind of mix of many langages, but the universality of the drawing was enough to be understood.

Je m'en suis mis plein le disque mémoire, de ces moments de flânerie sous les arbres, profitant du courant d'air frais qui passait sous ma chemise, devisant sur la difficulté qu'ont nos sens à nous décrire le monde tel qu'il est, de l'utilité de gribouiller des choses, même si à cette heure, un type est entrain de prendre deux truites à ma place dans mes coins de pêche.

I filled my memory disk of those moments strolling under the trees, enjoying the fresh air stream passing under my shirt, chatting about the difficulty our senses to describe the world as it is, therefore it is useful to scribble things, although at this time, a guy is capturing two trouts instead of me in my fishing places.

Et quand on fatiguait un peu de dessiner, il y avait toujours la possibilité de feuilleter les carnets des copains et de visiter un peu leur univers.

When we were tired of drawing, there was the possibility of flipping a friend's sketchbook to visit his universe, still great moments.

I had a greek hamburger in Barcelona with Jason from NYC.	Ursula and her sooo sexy French accent.
Happy to meet again  Omar from Berlin!	..And to sketch again Gérard.

Barcelone.

 

 

Je viens de passer une semaine dans la cité Catalane, ce qui a été l'occasion de faire quelques dessins. Pour l'occasion, j'avais embarqué avec moi un carnet aquarelle moleskine ( pas mes préférés: grain trop gros, mais bon, on va pas gâcher, c'est un auvergnat qui parle),ma boîte à aquarelles, quelques feutres et un pinceau réservoir.

I spent 7 days in Barcelona in Catalunya, and i've made a few sketches.

Par la fenêtre. (trought the window of the old appartment we've rented in the old city)

Thomas, au resto. Ça a été l'occasion de causer un peu avec mes voisins de table Français qui lorgnaient sur mon carnet ( j'ai attendu le dessert pour le suspense, puis je le leur ai montré, faut pas être vache, hein).
